Social Development

Friendship is important at Saint Albert's CDC. Your child will develop positive social relationships through the group setting of the classroom. This may mean interacting with teachers and parallel playing with other children in the toddler room. As your child grows, he or she will increasingly make friends and begin interactive play as they learn and grow.

Cognitive Development

At Saint Albert's CDC, your child will learn to love learning and expand his or her logical thinking. At 16-36 months, your child will begin to recognize that different objects have different characteristics—small or big, rough or smooth, cold or warm. As he or she gets older, your child will begin to identify colors, shapes, sizes, and textures and sort and classify objects by their attributes and uses. Your child will be encouraged to exercise curiosity about the larger world.

Language Development

Saint Albert's CDC is rich in language, from songs to books to the use of words to describe ideas and feelings. Your four - and five-year-old child will begin to recognize letters and his or her name and understand that written words have meaning. Your toddler's language acquisition will be expanded through music, oral instructions, reading books, and more.

Creative Development

Imagination and creativity are developed through movement, music, dramatic play, and art. Hands-on experiences with musical instruments, props, and process-oriented art activities foster your child's development.

Physical Development

At Saint Albert's CDC, you might find your child running, jumping, climbing, or manipulating objects like balls or shovels. Or he or she may be practicing eye-hand coordination with puzzles, crayons, or blocks and learning to get dressed in winter or summer gear. Your child will also work on age-appropriate toilet training.

Emotional Development

St. Albert’s CDC fosters your child’s sense of enthusiasm about the school experience through consistent routines. Through the encouragement of age-appropriate expression of feelings, he or she will learn to express themselves and their feelings.
